Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)

Virtual or physical, art is important in our lives. The Fine Arts Program at NJSOA provides unique opportunities for aspiring artists exploring the nexus between art and technology. Benefiting from the digital culture of NJSOA, the technological environment at NJIT, and the vibrant art scene in Newark, NJ, and the New York Metropolitan area, Fine Arts students engage in a design process with a variety of digital and analog tools and become part of a dynamic cultural experience.

Bachelor of Arts in Digital Design

Digital Design is an evolving and exciting multi-disciplinary field that underlies many of today's fast-growing industries - from web-based communications to entertainment. Housed within NJSOA - an institution with a digital legacy of over twenty years - the Digital Design program exposes students to a broad array of digital and multiple media applications and business practices, preparing them to not only to meet the technical challenges of the field, but to become leaders and innovators.

Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design

Interior designers bring a sensitivity to and knowledge of color and space, user needs, building materials and systems, lighting and cultural awareness to the design of spaces within buildings. Located alongside the well-established architecture program at NJSOA, the four-year Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design prepares students to enter the profession of interior design, first as interns, and ultimately take the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) examination.

Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design

From the iPod to furniture to children's toys,  industrial designers combine skills from art and engineering as they travel the road from conceiving an idea, to production, packaging and selling. As part of NJSOA, the Industrial Design program benefits from a creative environment where students from architecture, interior design, fine arts, digital design and industrial design interact to form new synergies. This exposure to and cross-fertilization of design disciplines prepare Industrial Design students for professional practice both as independent artist and consultants, or as part of a larger design team.
