



The purpose of the Professional Board of Visitors is to help set the direction for the future of the school and contains a broad representation from the design and construction industries that extend well beyond the traditional boundaries of the architectural profession.
Our board members provide a broad range of professional and societal perspectives which help us to formulate the kind of architectural education program that appropriately anticipates the needs of the profession, the industry and our society.

Stephen P. Aluotto, AIA ’79
President, Nadasky Kopelson Architects
Mr. Aluotto is president of NK Architects, a 37 year old mid-sized regional firm serving the New York and New Jersey metropolitan markets with an expertise in education, health care, mixed use development and cultural centers.
Robert J. Ambrosi '73
President, ARC; Clifton, New Jersey
Mr. Ambrosi is President and Founder of ARC Group of Companies. With more than 25 years experience in acquisitions, development and management of real estate, he has combined credit companies, long-term lease contracts and well-located properties into a successful real estate company. A successful graduate of NJIT (’73), Mr. Ambrosi is a successful entrepreneur developing properties in the US as well as abroad.
Robert P. Cahill
President, Cahill Properties
Mr. Cahill serves as President of Cahill Properties, LLC. The firm specializes in brokering commercial and residential real estate, land development and tenant representation in commercial property.
Kenneth B. Drake '80
Principal/Project Director, CUH2A; Princeton, New Jersey
Mr. Drake is a Principal and Project Director for CUH2A, Inc., a multi-disciplinary professional design firm serving a national clientele of leading corporations, institutions, and government agencies. Since 1962, the firm has grown from three to several hundred design professionals in offices in the U.S. and London. Mr. Drake is a graduate of the New Jersey School of Architecture.
Michael Farewell, FAIA
Partner, Ford, Farewell, Mills & Gatsch; Princeton, New Jersey
Mr. Farewell is one of four partners, and Director of Design and Ford, Farewell, Mills and Gatsch, one of the state’s largest and most respected firms. The award-winning architecture firm’s work includes that of historic preservation, planning and interior design. Mr. Farewell’s work has been widely published in professional publications.
Scott Fishbone
Principal, Atkins Associates
Scott Fishbone has been associated with the Atkins Companies as the principal in Atkins Realty Group, a division of the Atkins Companies responsible for land acquisition, site approvals and development.
Marian Imperatore, AIA
Ms. Imperatore is an architect with experience in urban design and planning. A graduate of the Princeton School of Architecture, she has consulted for Skidmore Owens & Merrill, Hillier Architecture and Regional Plan Association. She co-chairs the memorial committee of the Rebuild Downtown New York and serves on the Planning Board of Englewood NJ.
Matthew Jarmel, AIA, MBA '90
Principal, Jarmel Kizel Architects & Engineers
Mr. Jarmel is the Principal of Jarmel, Kizel, Architects & Engineers, a regional firm which provides architectural and engineering services, project management, interior design services and zoning board and code consultation. He also serves as President of the NJSOA Dean’s Executive Council, an alumni organization.
Thomas S. Michnewicz
Senior Vice President and C.O.O., Advance Realty Group
Mr. Michnewicz serves as Senior Vice President & Operating Officer for the Advance Realty Group. In this position, he is responsible for managing the development and redevelopment of more than 9 million square feet of the company’s real estate portfolio.
Jeffrey J. Milanaik '80
President, Heller Industrial Parks; Edison, New Jersey
Mr. Milanaik is President of Heller Industrial Parks, Inc., which owns and leases more than 14 million square feet of state-of-the-art distribution buildings nationwide. One of the largest industrial park owner/developers in the country, Heller builds, leases, and manages close-to-market distribution centers in seven states.
Karen Nichols

Ms. Nichols is a Principal at Michael Graves & Associates, with overall responsibility for managing the practice. MGA has developed an innovative practice model, integrating architecture, interior design and product design.
Jeanne K. Perantoni, AIA
Principal, SSP Architectural Group
Ms. Perantoni is the Principal of SSP Architectural Group, which specializes in educational facility planning. Ms. Perantoni received the 1998 Outstanding Achievement Award presented by the Council of Educational Facility Planners, International, and the “Excellence in Design” Citation from the National School Boards Association Journal, Learning by Design. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Council of Educational Facility Planners, International. A Principal of SSP, Ms. Perantoni holds a Masters in Architecture, 1982, from Rice University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Urban Planning, 1978, from Princeton University.

Mr. Rothe is Co-founder and Senior Partner of Rothe-Johnson-Fantracone (RJF). One of the largest architectural firms in New Jersey, RJF designs award-winning buildings in a broad and diverse field that includes health care, laboratory and research, office and corporate headquarters, government, hospitality and education. Mr. Rothe has been a major supporter of the NJSOA and has actively recruited NJSOA graduates for his firm.
